Hey Bordinco, no worries, you're not killing anything. You're just hitting the amp's poweramp stage limiter, so it shows you it's reached its maximum output power and won't get any louder. The amp is simply avoiding to overdrive the poweramp which in Class D amps wouldn't really sound any good...

I sold all my 4s years ago. After getting used to integrate my B-string into my bass lines it just felt like a restriction to have only 4 strings available and I also got used to the wider fret board. So today I own seven 5ers and one 6er and never looked back.

Mine also. Swapped it for a Behringer BX2000H which has the same power section but an imho better preamp and EQ. But the Behringer now just sits in a shelf as it got replaced by a Hartke LH1000 that I got cheap as a B-stock.

FWIW, I found differing resonance points in the various venues having way more influence on how good/loud/boomy the bass sounds than those created by dispersion issues. Just grab your bass while the room is empty, preferredly with a wireless or at least a long cable, play a bit and walk around...
