    Club Sandberg (part 2)

I went down a rabbit hole to find either a lionel (or florence) a few months ago. I ended up not finding one at the right price and specs after about 3 months of looking. There are 2 black ones on reverb right now (and have been for ages) - both roasted maple, though the pics are super light in...

    Interview with Meshell Ndegeocello

Came here to link to the same story - really enjoyed the piece, a deeper retrospective delving into some pretty soulful topics - as an artist and a person. New album tomorrow!

    Club Sandberg (part 2)

I wonder what is driving the Sandberg lack of availability and super long wait times for a business that at least appears to be larger than a boutique brand. Pandemic hangover (or learnings) in terms of suppliers, employees, equipment investment, cash flow, tariffs, dealers... They look to be...

    Sweetwater Scam

The OP explained that SW couldn't/wouldn't resolve the screws issue and only gave him the choice to return the bass...

    Sweetwater Scam

I've been told by my sales engineer that there is complex math involved in whether or not they can offer any price concession or added service. I assume there must be scientific principles involved to negate the axiom "x% of something is better than 100% of nothing" when I ask for any, even very...

What bass is this? (Live Latin hip-hop content)

That is a Deimel! Made in Germany Deimel Guitarworks Frank makes the guitars and his wife, Kora, does the artwork on special models like this one. I have one of their Firestar guitars and it is spectacular. What a cool looking bass!

    Club Sandberg (part 2)

Congratulations! Love that. Is it an alder body? Doesn’t look like the usual ash they use on natural. And the fretboard looks like maybe birdseye?

    Trying to convince my wife,,,

I am one of the most sarcastic, irreverent, and funny people you don't know. I love a good joke, hyperbole, and the absurd. But man, I also have to say the old trope of "asking my wife or hiding from my wife..." stuff that exists in the musical instrument and cycling zeitgeist (my two main...

    Sweetwater Scam

Good on you for doing what you think was right. Did you also pay to/from shipping on the first bass? If you did, that seems sufficient from a buyer accountability standpoint, but you were generous in feeling guilty as you say, or rather, felt loyal perhaps, if they did treated you right. All...

    Sweetwater Scam

Seems like the #56 inspection step is to look for damaged caused by the first 55 steps. :woot: In all seriousness, this is another data point to me that I am missing nothing, and avoiding trouble by ordering anything of material from SW. The OP was upset and probably shocked by SW's initial...

    Sweetwater Scam

Agree the source of the dent is at issue. Given that ambiguity, the fact that SW reduced the price of the bass by only $358, and they charged the buyer shipping both ways, a $600 damage tax seems egregious.

SOLD Lakland USA 44-64 Glaub, '64 Vintage Precision

Such a beautiful bass! It was good to read the history of it! Thanks for sharing. GLWTS! From @projectapollo's post about prior listings above, we know that time wasn't January 2024, since you were loving on the bass back then too! :woot: Excellent taste though - this is a stellar bass!
