that pretty much sounds like my band. I think we may be the only metal band in my town to play in standard tuning. Our style is very NWOBHM. So I think by keeping it standard my guitarists feel like they have to make up for it by being louder.

So I run a risk of damaging my amp with no cab plugged in? Oh boy.

I tested out my equipment again without the cab being plugged in and it seemed to work fine, no overheating. Now I'm no expert but would it make a difference if the cab isn't plugged in to the amp? Or does this seem like a sign that my cab is the culprit? I'm using an Avatar b212 neo 4ohm cab...
