Ok, my rb 850 only had 3 pots, 2 push/pull volume and a shared tone, your one seems to have had an extra tone fitted and then been stopped back to a far simpler layout altogether, now. It's been a long time, but I am sure the push/pull worked as coil taps ?

Have you tried contacting Ibinez ?i used to own one of these, monster sounding bass! Good luck

used to have an RB 850, years ago, had to adjust the neck every time i played the damn thing, shop took it back in the end. Ibanez had a problem with a small batch of basses if i remember rightly, have you talked to the shop ?

I have had my series one, through neck, active for 14 years, other basses come and go, but my status remains my number one !

Ibanez RB850, every time I moved it the neck went out, shame really, it had two 16 pole passive humbuckers that sounded earth shattering, sold after 9 months, of which the local store probably had it for 5 !
