well, i stripped back the blue wire and there's a bunch of little silvery things, which i guess created the fray, is that about right? now, where can i get an extension for the frayed wire and how would i connect it to the frayed wire?

what are some good instructional videos/books/cds? i've got the "play it all bass guitar" dvd, but it didn't really help me. i read that the "Link Removed" is a good pattern book, i'm thinking about buying that. any recommendations?

so basically i should watch instructional videos and read instructional books, play along while listening to CDs, come on here a lot, find some people to 'jam' with and then eventually, if i need them, get lessons?

for all the people who are self taught, what did you do to teach yourself? did you just find tabs of songs you liked and just learn that way? or did you find lessons on the internet or from a video? or what?
