I tend to go either way in calling it "upright" or "double". But if I just say "bass", everyone immediately thinks of the bass guitar for some reason. So I always have to do the: "No the *double bass hand motions* bigger bass." ignorant people.

Off topic: Anyone else hear that a former student of Hurst at North Carolina U is replacing Hurst at IU? Faculty members of NC came by my highschool to play, and I talked to there violist because he was a graduate of IU. He told me that there bass teach is supposedly replacing Hurst.

I'll try to remember that, thank you. Any advice or tips on what to expect going into the camp. Like "prepare for long rehearsals, etc." I usually practice 1.5 to 2 hours a day, so I'm hoping that will help prepare for long rehearsals, possibly.
