    Fender Aerodyne Jazz Bass questions .

    I found an aftermarket guard on ebay for my non-export models and they're nice. They would likely fit just fine on the black USA models but the problem I think you might have would be fitting a control plate as the routing is on the back on those.

    Mid-late '80's 4003's often had some pretty thin necks if that's what your looking for.

    Fender Frankensteins

    Pretty much all spare Fender parts except the body and one bridge. I often swap the necks around depending on need though, honestly, it doesn’t see much playing time.

    Everyone’s going to have their own preference but to me it depends on what your focus is. I’m a bass player that might be occasionally required to strum out some simple guitar parts on a song so I prefer the bass on top. If my priorities were reversed then my necks probably would be too.
