I name all my basses! Here are my Sadowskys - the P-J is a Metro called Blue Angel and the jazz is a USA Satin known as The Dragonfly. They are not case queens and get gigged out regularly.

yeah, my black fender is called 'fender'. My ESP LTD B205 5 string is called 'church bass' only because it has been mainly played at church.
I was talking with a friend of mine who also plays bass but has only owned a few basses over his time playing and he was amazed that I can still name every bass I've ever owned. I've owned 28 in total over the past 29 years, I feel like that means I need to buy one more so I can have had one for every year I've played, haha!
