In 2012 I was working at a music store in Canada, and I was looking to get a couple of gigging basses that were 'matched' in not only finishes but in tone as well. It started with a love affair with an American Standard Pbass in 3TS. No less that 2 other AS Jazz basses in the same finish came and went before I found a matching Jazz. These two are so close acoustically they might as well have been from the same tree. Obviously through an amp they are different, but close enough that I could take them to gigs together and not have the sound guy freak out on me for differing levels etc. I have always taken them together, changed the strings at the same time, stuff like that. I have maintained that I would want to sell them someday as a pair to someone who would appreciate this type of thing. I almost let them go separately this week for financial reasons, but after playing them for a bit this morning decided I would just tough it through until the right situation arose. They're too good together to split them up. Anyways, just needed to put this out there to see how many others have a matched set like these. Show your twins. Here they are on the left in the store about 10 minutes before I bought them.

Had two SR5s but not at the same time also owned three thumb basses. None were completely identical though. The first SR5 was black with rosewood, the second was silver sparkle with maple, all three of the thumb basses were different models (bolt on 5, NT5, and NT6) don't have a pic of the Black SR5 but here's all the rest.

Lately I've been more into having two drastically different basses. Like the dingwall with rounds and a p with flats.

I always buy my instruments in pairs, that way I have an identical match as a backup should one have issues. Both are used equally but will be the same make, model and pickup configuration. The basses will only be different in their finish and that is it. Here are the basses I have pairs of.

(As of yesterday, I also just bought a 1995 SR 800 in metallic blue that is almost in brand new condition.)
