Couple of pairs of currently owned:
(1) FenderBird twins, both Epiphone bodies with Aerodyne Jazz necks. Silver has active EMGs, White has stock passives, which could change for passive EMGs
(2) SBMM Ray24ca, actually the same bass before one was refin'd in walnut. Both with Seymour Duncan preamp, walnut also has Seymour Duncan Alnico V pickup.

My twins...well, close enough. A lot of crossover between these two, but also some important differences. On the left, NS Design Omni NXT, on the right NS Design NXT5a.
Love the walnut/chrome! Interesting mods, too. How'd that change the sound?

.The walnut's pg is actually mirror and she wears it well indeed. It also went well withe the blue ray24, but I sorta have this OCD thing that no 2 bass has the same pg color and/or motif.
As for the walnut mods'... so happy with them ! I really wanted an EBMM Stingray, but never found one with a neck comfortable for me. So after trying about a dozen stingrays or so, I opted to get a toluca blue SBMM ay24, refin it with this walnut paint refin and put in Seymour Duncan's preamp and pickup.
The pickup is a beast in itself, much warmer and a bit louder than the stock ray24 pickup, which is still a very good pickup and had it rewired in paralell . It's easy for me to compare, I left the stock pup in the blue bass and the difference is quite noticeable.
The preamp makes a huge impact: first by adding a mids knob and it brings a push-pull option on the volume knob, that you can use to toggle to a slightly scooped sound, useful for slapping. I don't slap much, but I still use that sound all the time.
I'm told she is sounding like a vintage Stingray, but since I never had one, can't comment on that. But she plays absolutely fantastic and that bass has a lot of tonal options. That walnut finish/mirror pg gives it a unique look as well.
