    Ramp for Ibanez SR300F

Is it possible to purchase a ramp for an older Ibanez SR300F? Does anyone make them as aftermarket items?

    Show Your Fretless

2011 Ibanez SR300F Not a fancy ebass but plays beautifully. Bought it last year from a prominent music store. It was purchased brand new in 2011 and returned two weeks later for a fretted bass. It sat in the storage room and there was no price tag on it when it was put out the floor. I was...

So, what were you doing 30 years ago?

I was teaching music full/time and making around $1000.00 a month playing tenor banjo, double bass and electric bass at hotel brunches and corporate gigs. Twenty-five years ago with the added GST tax in Canada DJs took over. Fees for a 3 hour gig today have not risen much if at all and some...

Owning 5+ basses is like owning a dog

I have three electric basses and 2 double basses. One of the double basses has a C extension and I paid $160 just for that string. Full set with my discount still runs about $340 plus tax. You don’t want to know the cost of my bow. So the electric bass strings are like pocket change to Mee! lol

    Double Bass Xuechang Sun owners!

I am very happy with mine and as one luthier remarked, "These are very good basses that are only lacking in 100 years of maturity. Looking forward to taking mine for set-up, extension adjustment and Laborie endpin added in May by Mario Lamarre.

Double Bass Clip on tuners that pick up low B string?

I found that my low C picks up easily and more quickly along with the rest of the strings when I clip any of my tuners to the top end of the tailpiece instead of the bridge.

Double Bass Shen and Upton in Toronto

Private Message me as I know the Upton basses fairly well and know of a nice one that is a hybrid owned by a student who is going into music and whose father is a professional bassist in Toronto. There are some other options as well.

Double Bass Questions about adding a C extension

I too am the only one in my community orchestra with an extension but this allows me the title of Principal Bass with C-Extension, even though I am on the second desk and don't come close to playing at the level of our Principal Bass!

    Double Bass Xuechang Sun owners!

Trying to find out which model of a Sun bass seems to be tricky as the ones that Steve Swan advertise have different numbers/model names altogether from the ones I have seen which are called 401, 402, 403, and a few other numbers while I have seen sights that talk about the Sinfonica mentioned...

    Double Bass Xuechang Sun owners!

I was just wondering if there are many talk bass members that own/play any of the Sun basses and how they are viewed in comparison to other Asian basses.

I played Don's bass last Sunday and it was wonderful. Don forgot to mention how easy it was to play. Thanks Don for the opportunity.

    Double Bass New SB100?

I mean look....if you interviewed the 3000 women I have been with...I bet 2 or 3 MIGHT say I am not the worlds greatest lover...where the other 2997 would have a different opinion....you know? Well if you can find a "bride" with adjusters to change her action for the different seasons, I'd...

    Double Bass lemur tosca model

I think Gary and Eric moved most of the basses to the Boston showroom although new basses are still being made and most of the repair work is still done in Stonington. I was there about three weeks ago and the showroom almost looked empty in comparison to other times I have visited. There are...

    Double Bass Existential Crisis

I have a 1948 Kay that I used to use for jazz only for the last 30 years and then I started playing in a couple of community orchestras. Bought Evahs for the Kay and that really helped. Now I have another fully carved bass and it is soooooo much better for orchestral playing and practising. I...
