How much for just the cab?

Obviously! My reasoning is that any ideas about maintaining an 'image' are delusional, so I want to be comfortable.

I would go m-audio. It's not going to win any quality awards but they're used by everyone. I believe you can get a keyboard that's also an interface as well, don't quote me on that. Their keyboards can run through USB as a midi controller and their audio interfaces are affordable. I have MOTU...

I've posted my bass here before, but yesterday I defiled it with some neon yellow DR's. Already plays and sounds better than with the d'd's that were in it when I bought it. Was a little nervous when I opened up the strings and saw how bright they were, but I dont think the look is too too...

I don't think this thread would even exist if we didn't all already know that Gibson's qc is nonexistent. The only company that has bigger balls (re: high price/low quality) is Fender.

I was close. Couldn't distinguish much between 1&3 so I guessed... Incorrectly.

He is a monster, not so sure about his level of taste though. Full disclosure: I have no love for bass solos in general. Saw him recently and he has this Leslie-ish tone he kept on going back to. It's so effected you can't particularly distinguish any of the notes he's playing.
