    For whatever reason, I’ve never had much trouble with 60 Hz hum, even with single coils. There’s no high end loss that I can detect though.

    My old-school bias would call for an open frame jack, mounted on the panel, wired to the circuit board - more expensive, of course.

    In fairness, the amp is 15 years old and was gigged some; this is the only thing that's ever gone wrong with it. B-string makes a good point about the input jack nut.
