    Definitely the Amber. I just picked up a used one and it's beautiful. Very interesting grain patterns. Sounds great too with the DD pickups. It's a rock machine that is a close rival to my Fender American Standard P.

    My 2008 American Standard P lived most of it's life with sterile sounding Bill Lawrence P-46 pickups. Recently replaced them with GZRs and it finally sounds exactly how a good Precision should sound.

    I wanted to love these because they're used on so many amazing records. I couldn't handle the high tension and low output though. Maybe if I could get really low action and played with a pick they'd work better.

    Yesterday I rented a Traynor YBA200-2(identical to mine) from Long and McQuade to test for sure what the issue here is. The rental Traynor through the two PF-115LFs sounded AMAZING last night at rehearsal! Huge, deep sound with lots of growling mids. Took my Swollen Pickle and Green Rhino...

    Thanks! I can't afford tubes right now so I'm going to rent a YBA200 just to see if a working one is any better.

    I tried the 410HE that I like this week and couldn't get the volume\tone I usually do. This leads me to believe the tubes are going in my Traynor. If that's the case, I still haven't really heard what the Traynor sounds like with the PF cabs.

    So you're saying then that a 300 watt Ampeg SVT-CL wouldn't be enough to power a 400 watt cab.

    Why would you think a 200 watt tube head couldn't drive two single 15" cabs? It could destroy just one of them alone, which is why I need the second one.
