I have a clamp on tuner (Kala branded; not sure who actually makes it) and it's next to worthless. My cheap/old Korg CA-30 sits at the end of my (albeit short) effects chain and works great.

I own those on DVD. Not bad. I show them to my elementary students once in a while and they like them.

I think the stock tuners on the spruce are quite nice and wouldn't bother replacing them. They operate smoothly, hold tuning very well and look great. Is it even possible to purchase the UBass Hipshot tuners separately?
