    American Vintage 75

900$ for an 75 AVRI Fender Jazz with EMGs?! Isn't that like a 2300 dollar bass brand new? Why are these fenders selling for less that half the cost? That's a really sweet deal. Good find.

New American vintage or custom shop?

I own a Fender AVRI 1975 Jazz Bass. I purchased it used from someone who didn't know much about it. How can I tell if it is a custom shop build?

NBD, Fender Custom Shop Jazz Bass

I own a 75 AVRI Jazz that I got used. I believe I remember the pre-owner saying something about it being a CS model. I didn't know what that meant at the time. How can I verify if my bass is a CS model?

    Shipping a bass

Can anyone tell me where I can get a box to use to ship my bass? I want to sell it, on TB hopefully, but Im not sure how to go about packaging it safely. I'll be shipping it in its hard shell case but will need to enclose it in a cardboard box of some kind. Thanks.

Get Up (I Feel Like Being a Sex Machine)

Not sure about that book. I remember the example in it. They really broke it down for you and even warned about Bootsy's variations but the line they play, although close, seems to be.....just off. I wish I had an isolated bass track from the original. Thanks for the response though...

Get Up (I Feel Like Being a Sex Machine)

Any one have a link to a video-demo or the standard notation for the riff Bootsy plays during the verses? I know he varies it a lot but.....Specifically, I think I got the riff down except I think I'm hearing/missing these two high Eb octave notes he puts in there so funky-like. Not sure...

    My Bass Teacher

Be patient. Theory is overwhelming at first, but it's so necessary for playing with others and improvising and learning songs. Dont let it scare/bore you. Basic theory is easier than you think. Just let that stuff soak in and marinate in your brain. Dont get discouraged if you cant...

    Get that pinky moving

Nice lesson. I myself sufferd from PUDD ( Pinky Under-Development Disorder) for the first few years I played. Same as you I figured I could do without the little guy. It was so small, weak and uncoorperative. I just figured I'd master a 3 finger fretting technique that all would envy...
