Once I get attached to an instrument I will not let go. Might sound dumb, but they feel like physical extensions of my voice once I make the decision to keep one.

To be fair the bridge pickup was 100% non-functional and the bass came with heavy cosmetic wear. Still, a working $50 bass is hard to turn down. It's a pleasing sound for what it is. I've had great fun writing chordal bass parts with it and adding my own drum beats.
