Hey not to jump off topic but is that an AMC Javelin behind the SVT?just received ferrite beads, blocking diodes and graphic EQ inductor to upgrade my SVT II...hopefully this week...

I got a '79 810 for my SVT to sit on, lol. Gonna retolex it in a few months and get some new grill cloth for it.
The back is pretty alright, but the sides are all tore up, same as the bottom. I'll probably add skid rails on the back and a kick plate on the bottom to help keep it nice. Also thinking about tolexing it green to match my '76 SVT.

Running my '76 V4B nice and hot into an 810CL multiple times a week.
Image 1 is pre-V4B. Was running an SVT-3Pro. Not a bad piece of rig but I wanted real overdriven power tubes too.

That's my ideal rig. I have the 810 cab, but I really want upgrade to a V-4B (even though my PF-50T is awesome).
How's the PF50T treating you? It's definitely on my list of things to try if and when possible. I like the V4B's full-blown OD so the idea of a similarly voiced amp with less headroom is interesting.
I'd like to pick up a smaller cab to push the amp harder for some songs. I've tested its full volume range, and I'm in love with its natural overdrive. It's just unmanageably loud through the 810 at that power for me.
I can hit the edge of breakup at band volume but no more (without the guitarist/singer throwing blunt objects at me

My favorite thing about the PF-50T is that it can be run without a load, which is perfect because I do a lot of recording. I've even run a guitar through there into my audio interface (rolling way off the bass, of course).
The PF-50T is shockingly loud with the right cab. It's not really a wattage increase I need. I've just fallen in love every time I've played a V-4B. It's worth pointing out that I've never tried them with the same cab, however.
Wound up trading in my late '70s VT-22 head for credit towards this minty fresh recent model V-4B that showed up locally at a pretty nice price a few weeks ago:
I dunno if/when I'll get the opportunity to use it in a band setting in the near future, but man I love this thing so far. Seems a good bit more flexible for bass sounds & is significantly less of a chore to move than the VT-22 it's replaced.
It's got along great w/ any of my cabs so far, but most surprising is how much I'm grooving on it pushing the Orange OBC115/OBC112 stack.

Nice! They really did a great job on the reissue V-4B; it's a great sounding amp.
New piece of Ampeg kit today, while it was discounted:
After 30 years of bass playing I got my first piece of Ampeg gear this week. It is a 2005 (SLM) SVT-4 Pro in new condition. It has some heavy (litteraly) competition from the old Hexa Valve 380w all tube head but I must say it is holding its own very well.
Like with the Trace I consider all the ultralow, ultrahigh etc. (Trace Elliot calls this preshape) to be suck knobs that kill tone. Does anyone play with those engaged?
The comp on the 4 pro is nice and subtle. Cool amp! The TC RH750 is my backup and in-house party gig amp. It sounds sterile and lifeless.
