    G&L Club Part 7

The most I've paid for a bass was $2,000.38 with tax. That was for my JB MFD, and I'm glad I got it. That's about my limit, although given inflation since 2020 I may have to rethink that limit. Depending of course on how bad the GAS is.

The Fender Jazz Bass Club Part Seven!!!

Congrats! Keep an eye on that truss rod adjustment.

    G&L Club Part 7

I have a Tribby SB-2 and it has a very thin neck, reminiscent of a Fender Geddy Lee Signature Jazz. I don't know if Kilotons have the same neck but if they do they could be very thin.

    G&L Club Part 7

This from an email I got from Memo regarding setting pickup height: "Normally we set the pickup height to 3/32” from the top of the pole piece to the bottom of the string with the last fret fretted. As for string height, we also measure at the 17th fret E and A string is 6/64”(3/32”) the D and...

    G&L Club Part 7

I like a little heft, to me it just feels more solid. You can't go wrong with 3TSB with a rosewood fretboard. That's a great looking bass guitar.

    G&L Club Part 7

I read that, too. Also, the person who checked then coming out of the woodworking shop only checking 1 and then sending the rest through when there was a variance in the depth of the channel on a lot of them tells me why some have had problems and others haven't. I'm one of the lucky ones who...

The Fender Jazz Bass Club Part Seven!!!

I'm confused. The Geddy Lee signature jazz bass supposedly has '72 specs, and mine (MIM) has a very thin neck. I've also heard that the Japanese ones have even thinner necks. What was Fender doing in the early 70s? Were there multiple versions of jazz basses with different specs? I ask because...

    G&L Club Part 7

I have a poplar Squier jazz and it's pretty darned hefty.

    G&L Club Part 7

That's actually not a bad price for that. Less than what they were going for new.

The Fender Jazz Bass Club Part Seven!!!

I have four MIM jazz basses, and they're alright. Just make sure the truss rod works. If it doesn't that's a deal breaker.

    G&L Club Part 7

I have to wonder what "refurbishment" it could possibly have needed. Still, they aren't price gouging as that $1559 is less than what they were going for when they came out. Someone really should nab that, it's a fine bass.

    Off. Nice bass.

The Fender Jazz Bass Club Part Seven!!!

I have Hipshot hb7s on one of my Player I jazzes, I think you'll like them. One of mine came with SD Apollos and I put SD Classic Stacks in the other. Both are great, Apollos might be more modern. I've also tried DiMarzio Ultra Jazz and I like those too, but they're a bit darker sounding. Good...

Thoughts on Seymour Duncan Apollo Jazz bass pickups?

Maybe that could partially explain the burpy sound of the bridge pickup. It's the same on mine. I'm with you though, I like my Apollos.

Thoughts on Seymour Duncan Apollo Jazz bass pickups?

Is your bridge pickup in the 70s or 60s position? Just curious.
