    Wireless: 2 sends + IEM

Loving the real-life experience sharing. <head_nodding=intermittent> Carry on! (yeah, yeah, Kansas).

    Wireless: 2 sends + IEM

I appreciate all the contributions to this thread! Thanks for being so helpful and welcoming to me as I join this community of professionals. I'm on-board with the folks at Sweetwater, and had a great conversation with a rep there about my goals. He gave me some initial recommendations, which...

Thanks for sharing the data sheet. A 32dB (!!) boost between 2cm and 1m distance seems alarming at first, but at 40hz could be useful when mic'ing a bass amp or drum. The low end of my contralto range (200Hz) shows about a 9db boost from 1m to 2cm distance from the mic. I'm actually quite...

Can you clarify what you mean by "fairly strong proximity effect"? I'm not sure I'm understanding what you mean. I do understand that they stay in a relatively fixed position, so there are less "natural distance dynamics" than with a handheld or stand mic. Is that what you mean?

I've used them personally and helped others use them (as their sound engineer). In the latter role, I much preferred over-ear mics to lavelier (e.g. in church environment) since natural head-turning is a perfect example of proximity drastically affecting volume. Hate laveliers. Regarding the...

    Wireless: 2 sends + IEM

Well, I'm seriously exploring IEMs, and willing to spend some (it depends on how much, right?). I already have some hearing damage and tinnitus, and not making that worse is very important to me.

Ugh, I missed that. Thanks for pointing that out. Indeed NOT what I really want. Excellent information, thank you for this!

Fantastic! Do you mind sharing the gear (make/model) you've found that works for you? Curious also what headset mic you have as well. Thanks!

I've seen some wireless receivers that handle two channels. While that still means two body packs for bass + vocal, it's just one receiver. Like this one: https://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-audio/shure-slx124-85-sm58-dual-system#productDetail The IEM system is likely to be a completely...

    Wireless: 2 sends + IEM

I revised my post to emphasize the "over-ear vocal mic" (aka "Madonna mic") approach. Besides wanting to move around a lot on stage, I also want my vocals to have a consistent level (independent of mic setup). I know how to use a mic (as a live audio engineer I coached others on mic usage). But...

    Fender Rumble Club

I am LOVING my new little Fender Rumble 40. Let me count the ways... After lugging around hundreds of pounds in the past (Sunn, Ampeg), it's awesome to pick this up with one arm. Aux In allows me to send my Macbook or iPhone headphone out right into the amp for practicing with studio versions...

    Wireless: 2 sends + IEM

New member here; firstpost. (How have I not been a part of TalkBass until now?!?) Finally starting to get some real gigs, which means real dB. I already have some tinnitus (from my first band decades ago), so I'm researching IEMs. But at the same time I'm wanting to go wireless on my basses...
