Fender Rumble Club

Does anyone use a non-rumble cab with a rumble combo? My plan was to get the 112 extension at some point, now I got to the point, and that’s not in option unless I luck out with a used one. Just curious if anyone has liked the results of something else outside of the rumble line (with their rumble) to maybe broaden my options.
I use my R40 to power this...
a BXD210H Fender 2x10 cab. Works great.

I am LOVING my new little Fender Rumble 40. Let me count the ways...
  • After lugging around hundreds of pounds in the past (Sunn, Ampeg), it's awesome to pick this up with one arm.
  • Aux In allows me to send my Macbook or iPhone headphone out right into the amp for practicing with studio versions or recordings of my bandmates
  • Phones output mutes the speaker, so my spouse doesn't end up hating me for the hours of practice "repeating the same songs over and over and over"
  • Overdrive shocks me every time I engage it with how freaking loud this little guy can get
Being able to use this for both small venue performance as well as quiet solo practice is fantastic.

I use my 500H at rehearsal with my Eden 210XLT cab all the time. Sounds awesome with that cab.... but most amps do....

I use my 500 at practice (haven't played out with it yet) & I don't even hear a need for an extension cab.
I usually keep my volume at around 9:00 and the thing blows my knees apart! lol
I haven’t been underpowered yet with the 200 combo. In fact, it still blows my mind how it handles everything I’ve thrown at it. Got a couple outdoor gigs lined up over the summer though. Figure it’s a good time to get an extension cab so I don’t have to bank on the combo exceeding my expectations every time.

Hey for any stage 800 users who have the dreaded low B rumble boomy farty sound, go into the menu and choose GLOBAL EQ SETTING. I used LOW CUT 1.
Huge difference. I'm guessing that's essentially giving me a HPF at a fixed frequency and the LOW CUT 2 at a different freq?
Either way, it put a smile on my face, as did renaming my amp in it's brain.

Are people having problems? Mine has been solid on the low notes. I'd like to know what the LOW CUTS do as well, I used number 1 this last weekend on a particularly boomy stage and it really helped.

Rumble 40 owner here, and new to the forums. In another thread I saw mention of a spreadsheet with example amp settings. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Welcome, MykennaC and lucas303. Lovely to see two new TalkBass members, and both with Rumble 40s! How about posting a pic of your Rumble and Gravedigger Dav would be happy to induct you into The Club, if you ask nicely.

You can find the Rumble Tone Pool here:

Yes, lucas, the spreadsheet you seek is called the Rumble TONE POOL. and there's always a link to it, whenever you want it, on the Rumble Wiki page linked in my signature, along with many other links to Rumble information.

(Thanks Jacob, but, you know "give a fish ..." versus "teach to fish ...", right?)

I just picked up the 100w Rumble and love it for the same reasons. Sounds pretty darn good too. I got it exclusively for home practice as my normal gig rig is an SVT/810 which I can’t keep in my really small living room.

Oh - and here’s a pic...

Holy moley! Even long-time and medium--time TBers are buying Rumbles this week!

What is this? The early income tax refunds coming home to roost??? That's great!

Alexander, that's an arty pic. Did you wanna join The Club with it? We'd love to have you.

NDC, what can I say? Hey, @Gravedigger Dav, somebody's about to challenge you Rumble collection!

NDC, I'm sure I speak for many here when I say, we'd love to see a pic of your Rumble collection, please. That, and your request, would sure be a powerful application to join the Rumble Club. What do you say?

Inexpensive option would be to grab an Electro-Harmonix Bass Soul Preacher....great light overdrive with a clean blend so you can find a level of drive you like then only add in what you want to your clean tone.
I have an EH Soul Food which I use for this purpose. My G&L L2000 just drives the onboard overdrive too hard. The Soul Food also has a blend dial and I can get the little bit of overdrive and warmth I'm looking for.

I searched, but can't seem to find a club for those of us who use and love the Fender Rumble series of amps. Any interest?

I've been playing at home with my Rumble 30 since late January and it seems to me like this amp puts out a good share for being so small! Originally I was looking at the Rumble 15 but went with the 30 because of the extra input jack, more wattage, and I read online reviews which said the 30 would be good enough to play with a band in a small venue even versus the 15 which didn't have as much bang.

Hope to hear form some fellow Rumble fans soon! :D

So this makes me the founding member, #1? I feel this is a big honor for someone so new on the forum!

I just bought a Rumble 200 combo brand new. My first gig with it will be Saturday night. I would like to humbly ask to join this club. Thanks!

Welcome Rumbler #1045! I probably use my 40 more than any of my other Rumbles or Bassman. Amazing amp, isn't it? Rumble on!

Welcome Rumbler #1046! The 100 is a lot of amp for a practice amp. You'll find it will do well for small venue gigs as well. And it compliments a J really well. Rumble on!
