Happened to us as well on a Festival gig, but we managed to save our set by playing with whatever was setup in the makeshift stage just without a PA system.

Yes, it is still the center of my bass/guitar board. I did hear putting Analog/Tube pedals at the end adds back some of that analog warmth so I might experiment on that down the road.

HX stomp if you don't mind the initial learning curve. It is very versatile and can play well with other analog pedals via FX out/return. I use mine in both bass and guitar roles and I am very satisfied so far.
