Sounds like both are good - 410 may be more my ticket. I was thinking that any cab will have some natural frequency preferences, but this BX1500 amp does have a lot of EQ, so I should have control.

I just got an old bass, in rough shape, made by Gibson in Kalamazoo, MI, according to the label. Model B-125-841. Does anyone have any knowledge of these basses? Any idea of how to date?

What do you think of ebonal fingerboards? (I have a Washburn T14 fretless that has a bad fingerboard - I'm not sure what it's made of. To me it has a strange sound.) I really like a mellow, string bass sound but one that can also be toned for a little more clarity and punch.

I think the pocket will work with Fender type necks. Any good sources for MIM necks? Also regarding the SX fretless - do they have standard dimensions in the pocket? I hope to get something nice, but not sure about spending $300+ for some I've seen.
