    All To my knowledge I bought some fender long scale bass strings to go on my p bass, and found that the thick portion of the e string wanted to rap the tuning peg, which causes the string to sit at a incorrect angle.

    I did play fretless for a little while, it was that real natural horny sound you get from the strings on pure wood that drew me in, I owned a cort curbow fretless which did have one of these so-called ebanol fingerboards, basically a hard plastic feel, and could not simply get the feel or sound...

    Maby cutting through, but keep in mind depending on what style of music you're playing two much bass/bottom end will cause the notes to sound mushed together.

    I tend to dial out a lot of the bass, on my amp the eq set.... Treble 12 O'clock... High mids 3 O'clock ....low mids 9 O'clock....bass 9 O'clock ,also the bass is rolled completely off on the bass guitar with the middle all the way up, I'm aiming for a tight punchy sound that's defined and cuts...
