What he said - a bit sticky at first, rubbed it down a couple of times with a Scotch pad, and proceeded to play the snot out of it. Not sticky anymore - feels awesome.

I regularly play my guitars through my Rumble 500. Mind you, it's just for noodling around, not in a live setting in front of people. But, sounds pretty good.

Butterscotch and single ply black BELONG together! That said, if you're looking to "jazz" it up a bit (yeah, I went there), to heck with all the naysayers of tort and maple and throw a tort guard on there. Or maybe white pearloid?

So, now that a few of these are out in the wild, world-wide, I'd be interested in seeing which ones have that extreme checking on the headstock. Mine doesn't and it appears that others in the US don't either. But, there are a few "over seas" examples where the checking, especially on the back...
