When some guy you see playing in Mc Donalds ask you what type of bass do you have, you spout off a few of the basses you own, and then say and a couple more because you can't remember. At the end of the conversation you can tell he thinks you were lying because you didn't know. True story...
I like the gold or whatever color that last one posted was. I have been taking a break from playing before I start lessons. Dealing with my other hobbies, namely aquariums. I may start with that bass.
Before i saw your reply, I was going to suggest you return the ibby. You would be able to take the cash from the layaway, and purchase the ibby any time. Given the fact you only had a month to get the pbass out you made the best choice. Trust me there will be another perfect bass for you. At...

As far as I can recall, those young dudes with James Fauntleroy were the house band. They call themselves "1500 or nothing". They are mentioned in the same sentence as the Roots in some circles. I heard the name came from them saying they would take no less than $1500.00 to gig when they were...
I think Fender answered this. If I recall correctly it was determined by the body style. That's what they market. If it has the body not the pick up, it is a p bass with say jazz pick ups, it would still be a pbass.
Look at the link again. It is to a group in Chicago. Plenty of good guys there. Join the group and do some networking. I am looking at taking some lessons in Detroit. Met a guy who may be able to get me in with Ralph Armstrong.
Check Community Colleges and look at your local bass page on facebook. A lot of those guys post on Detroit Bass Players from time to time.https://www.facebook.com/ChicagoBassPlayer
