Acoustic Bass Suggestions...

I'm thinking about getting an acoustic bass. I owned a Michael Kelly Firefly a long time ago and remember it being a fairly decent instrument for what I paid for it (around $300 if memory serves). I'm back in the market and was hoping to get some ideas about what to look at and what to avoid in the $300 - $500 ballpark.

I know Carvin had a line of acoustic basses a few years ago. Anyone know anything about them?

That is a great deal on the Breedlove at TPB. Add in the TB discount on top of that and consider the hardshell case and free shipping and I think you have the winner in your search for a new acoustic.

Ibanez make some decent acoustics. The AEB8E has an onboard preamp, onboard tuner, and XLR out - their other models would be similar. It's also 32", which is nice under the fingers. Plugged in it has has a great 'pillowy' tone that sits in the mix nicely, just like a high quality P-Bass.
