I still have not really played it.. I got in from work, snatched up my bass and ran back out the door to band practice this evening and just got home @ an hour ago and had to grab a bite to eat.. I will have to make a NBD post with this though..

This is selling right now at GC for $950.. This bass sounds better than any ABG I have ever heard with the possible exception of the Thunderchief. I said possible. I would have to AB them to be certain .. but it certainly sounds better than any other ABG I have heard at any GC I have been in and I always go to the acoustic room when I go to GC.. and that includes anything by Ibanez, Fender, Michael Kelly, Dean, Applause, Epiphone, Luna, Takamine, Martin or even Godin .. when it comes to acoustic tone.. The bass has a rich full tone and it is nowhere near as fragile as the Tacoma. It is very easy on the eyes.. very well made.. comes with a very good case.. better than the Tacoma case or the TKL case I bought for my MK Dragonfly..
You cannot beat this with a stick.

Regarding the OP question about the Carvin ABG... In my biased opinion, it's the best ABG I have come across. I have at least handled everything spoken of here so far. But I love how Carvin's feel and play, and their Cobalt run is no different.

Regarding my new Breedlove... I tried putting tapes on it for less string noise and the more upright sound, however the treads over the ends of the strings make them to thick to go through the bridge. I really don't want to have the bridge drilled.
Are there any flats or tapes that do not have the threads on the ends of the strings?

I think we all have biased options and that's great that we all love our basses. Personally my Fender Kingman I play all the time. It's hanging in my living room and I love playing it. I play a aim jazz do I really like how it has the same neck. I also just like how it looks like nothing else.
