Okay I found a new toy... A Japanese-made SK5DX. Excellent condition, excellent price. I am excite. I can't find much in the way of soundclips though. Anyone familiar with them? Same pup configuration as a 55-02 but it has Duncans.

    Rosewood or Maple neck

EBMM do a few with rosewood necks. I was looking at a tangerine Bongo with a rosewood neck just this morning :D

I'm in Australia so my choices are limited :) Fortunately there is an amazing store in Aus that will ship out to me so no worries there. I'm certain that it was a rare dud, definitely not disheartened with Lakland. I bought it from a reputable music store, but it was via their eBay store rather...

I don't feel like it's worth the effort at this point. This bass is giving off bad juju and I want it gone lol. The company I bought it for is giving me a full refund so I'm just gonna pick up something else.

Well I confirmed that the neck on my 44-02 was bad. Had quite a bad bow in it and the truss rod was absolutely maxed - I was pretty certain but I feel better having it double-checked by a pro! Also noticed that the neck was pretty unstable, really flexing with minor pressure applied to it. So...

ShowKing that 5 is freaking gorgeous. I'm pretty sure I'm sending back my 44-02 but I'm definitely buying another Lakland.

It's not frozen. It loosens up (which I did before tightening it), and tightens, but it gets to a point where it's just too hard to turn without using some serious force which I obviously don't want to do. At that point the strings are still 2+mm above the frets. Holding the 1st and 12/13th (per...

It's already got quite a bow to it and won't tighten, that's the problem.

The truss rod feels like it's already as tight as it'll go :(

Hey dudes, back again. I've had a chance to play the 44-02 now and I'm happy with the sound. It plays like a dog though. I'm sure it's probably just in need of a setup, but I'm worried I'll end up setting it up and it'll still play like a dog. I still have the option to return it as it's clearly...

Not great quality, just snapped it with my phone. She needs a setup and on closer inspection it seems like it was probably an ex-demo rather than brand new as advertised. I'm going to hit the seller up for a discount but I think I will hang on to it :)

Hey guys, I just got my first Lakland (Skyline ) in the mail about 10 minutes ago. I got a bit of a surprise though! I was expecting an Indonesian-built 44-02 with Lakland USA pickups and pre. What I got was a 2005 (yet brand new) Korean-built with Bartolini USA pickups and pre. Did I...

The Official Hartke Club Part 2

Hey guys! I have a Hartke HA2500 and I'm looking for a new cab. Currently I use a Behringer Ultrabass BA115 and it's okay, but I'd kinda like something a little smaller and lighter to take to practice/jams (carrying it up and down stairs suuucks). It's usually only myself and a couple of...
