I'm sure this has been covered before, but how standardized/compatible are older Skyline necks with each other? I have a 2004 Glaub with Rosewood board and a 2005 Osborne with Maple board and am considering swapping the necks if it doesn't involve any drilling...Thanks all! LOVE these basses, just love tinkering and experimenting always....
Well....the Korean basses are more compatible than the early indo ones... You may still need a test fit.

2004 and 2005 should be pretty compatible I think. They're close to each other in years and both should be Korean made

Well I confirmed that the neck on my 44-02 was bad. Had quite a bad bow in it and the truss rod was absolutely maxed - I was pretty certain but I feel better having it double-checked by a pro! Also noticed that the neck was pretty unstable, really flexing with minor pressure applied to it.
So it's back in the mail and I'm shopping again
Not sure whether to get a 55-01 and look at swapping the electronics, or grab a 55-02.

Personally, I'd get the 55-02. Lakland electronics are good!
My first ever Lakland was a 55-02 and the only reason I sold it was because I upgraded to US Lakland.

Is it difficult to add an active passive switch to a Bart HR-5.4/918? (Ideally I would like the setup on the Elrick E-volution)
The thing is I don't really care for push/pull pots. Not a big fan of stacked knobs either. Sorry don't mean to offend anyone just my thoughts, I could be wrong.
So back to the issue. I can solder fine, I got the skills to get it done I just don't know what wire goes where!

My first Lakland was also a 55-02. It was amazing but I need a Jazz as my main bass. More specifically, a jazz 5 with a 35" scale. So I sold it for the Darryl Jones 5 I have now. But theyre great. The B Is super tight. Im sure you had a rare dud. Don't let it turn you off. If you're getting a refund, check out Sweetwater. You can see the exact bass you're getting, and can sometimes compare it with other models they have in stock. They also give you the serial number so you can date the Lakland. Plus, they do an incredible job inspecting it before it ships. I've never gotten anything from Sweetwater that wasn't PERFECT.

Fortunately there is an amazing store in Aus that will ship out to me so no worries there. I'm certain that it was a rare dud, definitely not disheartened with Lakland. I bought it from a reputable music store, but it was via their eBay store rather than the regular one. I can't help feeling like they knew it was dodgy but life goes on!
