SOLD G&L Kiloton 5 Andromeda (ebony board + quartersawn maple neck)

There’s some black marks next to some of the frets. Tooling marks or staining marks I assume.

SOLD G&L Kiloton 5 Andromeda (ebony board + quartersawn maple neck)

The decision has sadly come. I’m (hopefully only temporarily) quitting bass playing. I’m off-loading all my bass equipment, including this beautiful G&L Kiloton 5 in Andromeda. It features an ebony fretboard and a quartersawn maple neck. This was configured by Jason Mendelson of Fret Nation and...

Impulse P, nbd a few days away

Congrats! I owned a 2020 and a 2021 Player Series and so far they were excellent instruments, especially at sale prices. Might have some fret sprouting, but that will depend on several factors. Hope yours is a peach!

Haha! And actually the fret sprouting has improved, since I got this from dry Denver and now it’s been in wet Oregon for about a month now.

    Boss Katana Bass ...

The verdict is in: I’m loving the Katana 110. I like how I can make this as straightforward as I want it to be while offering a plethora of effects on tap. The headphones out is exceptional as well, reminds me of the headphones out on both my Genzler Magellan and GK Legacy heads. The best thing...

    Ibanez BTB multiscales…sheesh

Having owned a Dingwall (and a fan of the music they are mainly marketed for) I can say they are not the end-all be-all. Of course I had a Combustion series and not a Canadian one, so that may be one reason. Who knows. I sold it on account of the pickups being too… present and trebly. It was...

    G&L Club Part 7

I’ve been a long-time lover of DR Strings and I recently got a set of Sunbeams and a set of Fat-Beams, both 45-130 for the Kiloton 5. Sad to report that the Sunbeams did not live up to my expectations (my first set) and killed a bit of the “excitement” and thunder that the B string offered. I’m...

    NAD:Boss Katana 110

They probably had designs/material/equipment ready for 10” drivers and wanted to release it ASAP so they did. I have a strong suspicion some 12” driver-equipped combos are in the works in the near future. And of course some standalone heads. That’s how they get ya!

    Multi scale recommendations

The EHBs are excellent. I owned the EHB1005MS and the B string is one of the best I’ve had. String changes were very quick as well. The only con to it is the pickups and the on-board preamp. It was lackluster. Have you looked into the new multiscale BTB basses from Ibanez? They’re a bit more...

Spector NS Dimension or Dingwall D-Roc

There’s so much more versatility on the NS Dimension compared to the D-Roc. I owned an NG-3 for about 2 months and I ended up selling it because the pickups were too trebly and present that it was not playing well with both real and simulated amps.

I’m set to receive mine on Monday afternoon, hoping the Katana 110 is the best (for me) home amp. I don’t care for the effects, but I do love the 1W setting and the blend knob. I also own the Katana 100 1x12 for guitar so I know exactly what I’m getting.

What’s the downside of Class D amps?

OP, in my experience the only downside to Markbass amps are the knobs which offer not a lot of resistance. Easy to accidentally turn.
