Just wanted to share my most recent acquisition. I got it used today and got a great deal! Well, heres a picture of my babies. New one is the Custom 4. If you add the price I paid for both its $400. Great deals for these basses!!

I have a 5 year old Elite-4 (pics above) and currently have it tuned to Drop C. It has been there ever since I bought it used, and it's the tuning I play in my metal band. With that being said, I recomend getting DR Drop Down Tuning bass strings for your Elite. It makes the tone less "muddy"...

I personally play in a heavy metal band with it, but I feel as if it should do well with jazz/blues. I've seen some videos of others playing Jazz/blues with Schecters and they sound very nice. They also get a nice tone when you slap on them.

I'd personally go with Schecter. I got an Elite-4 as my second bass and I fell in love with it. If you also would like, you can get a very nice used Schecter Elite-4 and Studio instead of the Extreme. Just check the for sale sections on here, or your local craigslist for some nice used ones...
