Sorry i didn't get the whole picture. Are u in the area with your band? are you going to share a ride or are you driving solo? Also is this originals or cover band? If it is original band you should definitely go also to promote your work to another audience, even if you have to drive 2 hours...

r u sure you have checked all the connections? all the cables are good? are all pedals properly powered (either battery or charger)? are all the knobs on a position that sound is expected (eg volume)? my first guess will be the extra cable you are using

Αsk the band where to rent all the equipment you need. this is for sure cheaper than buying a cheap piece of gear, that you gonna hate rapidly and never use it again

Another suggestion is to use a wider strap. that way you are going to feel it a lot lighter and support it better. i really think most of the problem comes from bad anatomic of the strap and the way you hold it. try something different, even discuss it with an orthopedic and design a support...
