it always bothered me that 4004 pickups weren't wide enough to be under the E and G strings.

there are lots of crap-ass "classic rock" songs i hate to death but i'll grit my teeth and play them if most of the other material is good, but i would never, ever play a billy joel song, not for a million dollars, not to cure cancer. no.

there are three differences: 1) binding vs. rounded edges 2) sharktooth inlays vs. dot inlays 3) "stereo" "rick-o-sound" output vs. regular mono output i have several of each. IMO the first two points are cosmetic and irrelevant. that leaves the question: do you need the "stereo" output jack?

what you're missing is that while different cabs might sound worse, they also might sound better. can't hurt to experiment.
