    Carvin SB5000 / SB4000 Roll Call...Part 2!

Yes, it's a reverse Icon headstock. The pics don't do the bass justice. It's damn sexy. Here are the non-obvious specs: Alder body Low-wide nickel frets Standard active/passive option (no mid-sweep, etc.) Abalone inlays Nice and balanced and feels light. Not sure if my scale is...

Just came today. Here it is (forgive the relatively poor quality pics): Haven't had a chance to play it yet. . . Paul

    Carvin SB5000 / SB4000 Roll Call!

That reflects too much light to be considered stealthy. Would get shot down over any territory in a heart beat. This is Invalid Link Removed. I ordered one just like it. . .and should have it in a week or two. :hyper: Paul

Is this genius or boring? (Pino Palladino)

I have no clue. I don't know what that's from, but it does go to 11. Well, you'll definitely enjoy the 2001 DVD. Paul

Is this genius or boring? (Pino Palladino)

No problem. It's a GREAT DVD! I would recommend every single Gilmour DVD/Blu-Ray since then, too. They are both from his tour in support of his 2006 solo album tour, On An Island. They are "Remember That Night: Live From The Royal Albert Hall" and "Live In Gdansk." Both are great, but I'm a...

Making that sound good and catchy is a talent in and of its own. Paul

The bassplayer equivalent to U2's The Edge?

Well, KOL songs as a whole are pretty simple. I'm a HUGE fan of KOL. However, I probably wouldn't even own an album if I started listening to them from their second to last album on. I've seen them 4 times (should have been 6). First time was at a GREAT small venue in St. Louis that was torn...

Is this genius or boring? (Pino Palladino)

A bit off-topic, but here is some more of Pino and Gilmour together: Marooned Sorrow Coming Back To Life (Probably my favorite song of all time) By the way, Gilmour is using the #0001 serial number Stratocaster. While not the 1st Strat made, it is a very, very early model. Pretty cool. Paul

Is this genius or boring? (Pino Palladino)

Not sure if it originally came from this, but it's an extra from "David Gilmour: In Concert." Think it came out in 2001. It is a fantastic Floyd-lite concert DVD! Who cares about Pino! Damn, Gilmour is awesome!!! Errrrrr. . .wait. . .Is this a bass guitar forum? :D Paul

    Which preamp stombox you like?

Yesterday, I ordered the VT Leeds (Hiwatt) with the "Jimmy" bass mod from Putnam Guitars. I have no clue how that will sound. . .but just throwing it out there. I guess it's somewhat of a vote for the VT Bass. Paul

    Battle of the Preamps?

I just placed my order for a Tech21 Leeds pedal, with the "Jimmy" modification. This mod adds lows to the pedal one direction; then adds lows and changes the mid-sweep the other direction. Got it from Putnam Guitars. Jimmy mentioned this in some recent posts. He as the Tech21 British pedal...
