Advice please - transporting Peavey amp

I have the Tour 700 head myself. I bought an inexpensive 24" rubbermaid tote. I wrap the head in a bath towel, stick it in the tote, toss the lid on it, carry it away. Packs nicely in the van. Rack cases are nice, but just ads to the weight of the head.

What was your first amp (old guys only)

CIRCA 1968, I had a Norma bass (Fender look alike), and a Layfiette Electronics amp. 30 watts, 1 x 15. Within a year, I got an Ampeg B-52B. Monster! Since, I have had an assortment of amps. Sun amp, two 2 x 15 cabs, and a crap load of Peavey stuff. I play in a classic rock band, now use...

    Bass Weight

I too have searched the manufacturer sites for weight of their basses. I have bad arthritus in neck and lower back. I have the DDD thing. Had neck fusion a year ago for 4 ruptured discs. Bummer I can't play my Fender basses. BUT, I did recently pick up the Gibson SG bass - very light weight...
