I'm not in a band, so I just play for myself. I currently play through an Acoustic B100 1x15. I was thinking about switching it for an Ampeg BA-115. Does the amp 115 have a brighter, punchier tone in general then the Acoustic? What would you say is the fundamental tone difference between the two?

On a somewhat related, but different question... have any of you ever experimented with splitting your output signal and having one go to the bass amp for clean low sounds and the other to a smaller guitar amp for highs with higher gain, gritty tone to mix together in the room?

My only restrictions (besides spending a lot of money) would be space in house room. I am not in a band... I play on my own to recordings, etc. I was thinking 2xwhatever OR 4x10 or so. Then i have to think about an amp head of some sort, which opens up another can of worms :-)

Hi Furym. So sorry for not updating. I solved my problem: I was powering the Scarlett with a cable that had an adapter so it would fit my USB port. I bought a new proper cable (all one piece) and it stopped cutting out. now I can use GB and MS successfully!

What do you mean bend before cutting?

Good point and I believe you're correct. I have noticed that my windings are less than 2 full wraps. I've been cutting my strings 1 & 1/2 post lengths but I think I may need to change that.
