    Question about Eminence Kappalite 3012LF

did you try turning the L pad for the HF driver all the way down, and setting both mid voicing switches to the “1” position? There is an LC low pass filter in your existing crossover. You could just disconnect the feed to the mid/Hf sections.

Greenboy Designs Official Club - Part 3: Loud, Light and Low!

If you haven’t found anything, shoot me a PM. It’s not as common as you might think, and reliable doesn’t have it any more.

You would be better off with another 12/6. If you add the second woofer with the sub, the single Alpha mid can’t keep up. Glad to hear that it’s still serving you well.

    Comparing F112 + BB2, A Second Opinion

There is padding in both positions, but the II position is the flat position.

Which bass preamp should I get?

Tech 21 Paradriver or Bass Driver are not bad choices. I Use the Paradriver DI, and see no difference in noise with power supply or battery.

Did greenboy just kill the Fearful ?

A 12/6 should easily meet your volume needs. A speaker cabinet that is capable of a full range flat response just puts out what you put into it. You will always sound like you. It is much easier to get what you want from an uncolored cab.

Greenboy Designs Official Club - Part 3: Loud, Light and Low!

I have used a bridged XTI-2002 into a single F110, as well as with an F112, F115, and F212 with great success. One thing that is very important with using an amp that is capable of destroying the cab is to use a HPF, you will both protect the cabinet and gain useable volume in the room. Having...

Did greenboy just kill the Fearful ?

It more like “here are free plans and a forum to support them, but after a decade or so, I’m tired of paying for it since the activity has declined and donations no longer support it” Bear in mind that this only applies to the fEARful line of DIY designs. the Fearless, Dually and Bassic lines...

Did greenboy just kill the Fearful ?

Nothing has really changed in Greenboy land other than the closing of the forum, which Dave closed due to inactivity and donations not covering the costs. The fEARful plans are all on Speaker hardware’s site as well as kits and parts. The Fearless, Dually and Bassic cabs are still being built...

    Gibson Acquires Mesa/Boogie

Although the Greenboy site closed, the fearful plans are all still available for free download from speakerhardware.com. The Fearless, Dually and Bassic cabs are still available from the authorized builders (like me) that have always built them. So actually not much change in Greenboy land.

an odd trade offer - does this make sense?

If you’ve been trying to sell the fender for a while, that should tell you something about it’s desirability and value. The Eden 550 is a good amp without any real quirks and a decent following. I’ve got no experience with the Tech cabinet, but Eich designed stuff is historically quite good. So...

    Fixing a Bassman 400 210 combo

What happened with the 9v test directly to the speakers? That actually is a very good sounding combo when it works, if the drivers are in fact bad, your money would be best spent by replacing them. I’m pretty sure that they are 2 8 ohm woofers wired in parallel for a 4 ohm load to the amp.

Hunting for a clean-sounding head with nice sparkling highs

TecAmp or it’s successor Eich is what the OP is describing. I have a TecAmp Puma 900, and it’sa great amp, “smaller” watts than other comparable Class D amps though. I also have Demeter pre / Crown power amp setup, the Puma is very comparable sonically to the Demeter.
