After years of saying I'd never get another 5...

The P pickup solo sounds great. It would be a nice instrument if it was the only pickup. A BBP35 showed up at my front door last week. Amazon was selling it cheaper than the four string.

Yamaha BB vs Jazz bass comparison (PJ vs JJ)

I think the Yamaha has a little more mid range and overall sounds "thicker". But they are very close and both sound great.

The B3 had its own custom dolly, but the KB player had 2 leslies. We also had to lug 4 Voice of the Theater cabs.

    Sad and beautiful.

    Any Frank Zappa fans here?

Saw him a couple years later in Providence, RI. He did mostly instrumental versions of the material from Overnight Sensation. Warm up acts were Leo Kotke and the Mahavishnu Orchestra.

    Bass is extinct!

I saw Prince in concert, Rhonda Smith played excellent bass the whole show. The bass lines were easy to hear. I don't think she got fired.

The prices were jacked up also. The 112 now costs more than I paid for the 212 last year.

For the old folks: what did you pay, back in the day, for what is now a "vintage" amp?

1968, got an Ampeg B15 for about $265. It was the earnings from my first summer job. So surprised that people like them so much now. I thought it was not loud enough. Eventually got a Fender Bassman and a used 2x15 but but don't remember how much it cost. In the early 70's a set of Rotosound...

    Most "embarrassing" song.....

I remember how red the bride's face turned when we played Savoy Brown's "She's got a ring in his nose and a ring on her hand". The marriage lasted less than a year, no sense of humor.

GoGo's - We Got the Beat - Not in a real key?! Am I crazy?

Back in the day when AM radio ruled the world, some songs that were in the close to three minutes length were sped up to fit the format. Shorter songs meant more commercials and fewer listener's attention spans were challenged.
