Babicz 5 string on a Fender

what would you use to shim up? To shim door hinges I've used non-corrugated cardboard (like cereal box cardboard), putting a narrow strip on the edge you want to raise. Works well in that application, but you wouldn't get continuous contact between the neck and cutout. I can't think of...

I've worn through some of the neck paint on my SUB. Still plays fine, but I was wondering what other people do to protect the finish. I've been thinking of using some carnauba wax furnature polish or maybe ski hot wax. Just thought this might be the place to ask

Dead spot, what would you do?

If the string doesn't ring out when you play in certain areas it can be because of a high fret. Raising the action can get rid of the problem, otherwise you probably have to level the frets or replace the nut. There were some dead spots on a used bass I bought which prevented me from lowering...

    fEARful™ Part Ten (10)

greenboy - It's just the one handle, I tried to line up with the center of mass, on top I'd be in the middle of the 6"driver box so that's not a great option. In hind sight I should have put it opposite the shelf so it'd display when I'm set up to play, but I was thinking of the shelf as the...

    fEARful™ Part Ten (10)

I finished this weekend and had to work today so, honestly, I haven't played enough to notice. I did apply some liquid nail between the cab box and grill bracket to seal everything. I'll look out for any noises, but I think I've got it pretty well immobilized

for the 6" grill http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=260-418 . I like the beefier looking expanded steel, but I wanted to hide the fasteners and this is what they had. They're a little lighter than I was expecting, but they should protect against anything short of a good kick

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed] Tweeter is coming, but this is a working 12/6 cab. Dovetail and through mortise joined out of salvaged wood flooring. I hadn't heard a fearful before, and I'm quite pleased with the sound. I was expecting it to be about the same as the SWR triad it's...

Could use some dusting, but I'll probably keep ignoring it. I should have made the stomach relief larger and closer to the tail, but it's OK as is

My sub (crappy picture.. cut away on the stomach and wrist, I've since added a kill switch, but it's not in the picture)

    fEARful part nine (9)

I put some linseed oil on it (no pictures yet, took on a nice red though), and last night put a coat of marine polyurethane on it. I'll re-coat tonight and Friday, it should be usable Saturday.

    fEARful part nine (9)

Building a joined 12/6 fearful, to replace a stolen (kinda my own fault) SWR triad. Looks pretty good so far. [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] With any luck I should have the speakers installed this weekend. Anyway; I'm pleased with it. I'll put up some more pictures when It's done
