    Rack cases: Room to breathe?

Ran into the same problem with my SWR 350. Intake is on the left side and forces the hot air out the back via a cooling fan. After running my amp at 3-4 hour gigs in a 2 rack SKB case I burnt the tips of my fingers when I touched the amp. (And that sucker kept going too. Kudos to SWR!) Well the...

Best way to wire my rig....

Agreed! Tone doesn't come from the hundreds of pedals strewed across the stage like you were a solo guitarist. In my opinion it comes from the right amp/cabinet/bass combination. Search until you find the sound you want utilizing that combination, then consider maybe adding an effect or two...

    Official Ampeg Club!: Part II

Here's my beat up Ampeg! Wouldn't get rid of it for all the money in the world. Best sounding Cab i've ever owned!!! Only thing I would concider is trading this 8 ohm cab for a 4 ohm, same model. Anyone interested hit me up.

I don't like my sound. Which will affect it more, changing Head or changing Cab?

Depends if you play 5 or 4 string. If you play a 4 in small medium venues you really dont need to add larger cabs ( 2-12 or 1-15) Sound comes from a combination of things. You cant just automatically get the sound you want by changing one thing. It took me about 2 years of decisivness to find...

Peavey Series 400 Bass Amp, Is it worth Getting

Well I have a Ampeg PR 410H and i ran my Peavey Series 400B through it before I sold the head. That amp is seriously LOUD!!! It could keep up with my SWR 350 even with it's age and only being 200 watts @ 8 ohms. I think it would hold up perfectly fine though I always recommend a back up just...

    SWR Fan Club

Picked up a used SWR 350 (silverface) for $180. This is buy far the best amp i've ever owned. I can get that sucker so hot it burns my fingers when I touch it. Never failed once in3 years of serious abuse. Not to mention to best tone ever! I'm in too!

    LOUD..going...going....GONE

Hold on to your Ampeg gear. But the value will skyrocket in the next few years if they go under. Especially the older USA made stuff.

How do you bridge an amp?

I actually just got back from a jam session with my band where I used the PR410 and my SWR amp and I gotta say it was plenty of sound. I had to run my amp a little over 2/3 way up to keep up with my drummer(he's a serious heavy hitter) but I still got a decent sound out of it. Not sure if I like...

FS: SWR Bass 350 & Goliath Senior 6x10

I bought that same exact head (silverface) off my local carigslist for $180 with a 3 rack SKB case. Yeah $375 is a little high for the head. The cab on the other hand..... If you were only willing to ship to Wisconsin!

How do you bridge an amp?

Thats what I did. I found the 1-15 Eden for $200 on craigslist. I currently have a Carvin RL118 I dont use. I could try running that in a series with it. It's 8 ohms also. I just dont care for the sound of it. Sounds real dry. And besides, i've heard great things about David Edens cabs. Not...

How do you bridge an amp?

I got the cab for $200 which was a steal in the first place. I could just run it at 8 ohms but then it's horribly underpowered. My amp is quoted at 240@ 8 ohms. the cab says 600 rms. I got the amp for a steal too. $180 for a SWR 350! Perfect condition. I got a guy willing to sell me a SWR 750...

How do you bridge an amp?

Nevermind. Scratch that. Their ran parallel. Theirs no way to get a lower ohm load out of this cabinet. Looks like I need an amp with more power.
