How do you bridge an amp?

Um.... I don't understand some of the tech stuff and things...and junk...but....
It seems that you could go on Craigslist (or TB classifieds) and see if anybody will swap you for a good quality 4ohm cab..... a lot less head scratching that way.... just sayin'.

Thats what I did. I found the 1-15 Eden for $200 on craigslist. I currently have a Carvin RL118 I dont use. I could try running that in a series with it. It's 8 ohms also. I just dont care for the sound of it. Sounds real dry. And besides, i've heard great things about David Edens cabs. Not really looking to get rid of my amp either. I replaced the groove tubes with sovtek and I cant get enough of the sound! It's like an eargasm!

I'm not talking about getting an ADDITIONAL cab. I'm talking about TRADING cabs with somebody. If they have a good quality 4ohm 4-10, you give them your good quality 4-10 and walk away happy. You wind up with ONE 4ohm cab without having to have your degree in electronics and spending a bunch of cash on another amp to bridge to the one you already own and like. Seems like a BUNCH of hassle to do it any other way. Also seems like a lot to set up to run ONE cab.

Know anybody That wants to trade? Preferably SWR.

I can't tell by your profile where you are. If it were me, I would put an ad up in the TB classifieds or on Craigslist. If you are in/near any kind of Metro area, you will probably get a hit. There is probably somebody out there wanting and 8 ohmer to make his rig work out better. You have a nice cab, so only take a nice cab as a trade. Good luck!

Well, yeah, you could do that too. Seems to be more 8ohm cabs available though. He may luck out and find a 4ohm for sale or trade.

I actually just got back from a jam session with my band where I used the PR410 and my SWR amp and I gotta say it was plenty of sound. I had to run my amp a little over 2/3 way up to keep up with my drummer(he's a serious heavy hitter) but I still got a decent sound out of it. Not sure if I like the cross breed of Ampeg and SWR but it will work for now. Still trying to decide between the two. I love the crispness of the SWR amps and the tube preamp section, but I like the articulate tone of Ampeg. Kinda stuck in the middle. It's all about the sound though, right? A 4 ohm cab would allow me to run my amp a little lower on the master and help the amp run cooler but My ears are still ringing so I think I got a winner for now.... Until I get the itch to deal again! BTW I was drowning out a 120 Marshall With a 4-12 cab for most of the session! My guitarist is kinda mad at me!!!
