I finally got a new one in orange. I have always wanted to like the Hofner Club Bass. The G5440 is MUCH better to my perception. Like the original poster, I play a P bass forever. This Korean Gretsch is wonderful. Obtaining the case involved an effort.
This bass is capable of the tweener...
I have both MIA P & J; I wanna cop a MIM Pbass and make it look real ugly. I have a couple MIM Teles and I think they're just great. I bought my '99 Jbass used and it's truly fine. As are all. Since '65. Yikes.
I just got one and I really like it. I was fooling with these when living in Japan about ten years ago, but didn't pull the trigger. The light basswood is a different voice that I like very much. The P-J setup I'm into. I'm going to try Half-Rounds on this instrument and see how that goes...
No offense if not applicable; make sure your strings are good and your bass is functioning nominally. My v3 500 combo is really good on the low E 41Hz or thereabouts.
Regarding a Rumble 500 Combo plus a Rumble 410 extension, look at the two internal 10's as one eight-ohm load, and the four 10's of the extension cabinet as a second eight-ohm load in parallel. It's not perfect on paper, but it will sound damn fine, with all speaker components operating well...
Excellent stuff! The past couple years I've been liking the medium Chromes on my straight '07 P Bass. I find I can get more different and (to me) pleasing tones with varying Plucking techniques and positions. Very recently I put a set of medium EB Cobalts on a Squire project; they seem pretty...
Just a couple hours ago the FedEx guy showed up with my new V3 Rumble 500 combo and 115 cabinet. Of course is was necessary to instantly verify that everything works, which it does. I had played around with the Rumble 200 combo a few times at a local music store, but they didn't stock the 500...
Go to the Eminence website and have a look at the frequency curve for that driver. If it's reasonably flat (plus or minus around 6dB) up through around 3KHz, it should work well for electric bass. If you do make the swap, be certain the wire connecting to the speaker terminal marked "+" on the...
I'd be tempted to use (clean) old towels. It's only necessary to avoid parallel reflective surfaces, so one side, bottom, and back should do it, leaving maximum unobstructed volume. Man I cannot wait for my V3 Rumble 500 to arrive.
I have a Rumble 500 combo + Rumble 1X15 on the way; be here Thursday. Been fooling with them in local stores for a while. They're really light, and sound great. I'm tired of carting around 80# boxes.
