nice bass the original treble pickup looks like it has been replaced...the bridge pickup on Rick basses does not have the chrome cover like the one installed in your 4001 which is usually mounted in the neck position electronically speaking, the treble and bass pickup are the same though

As Imathebassman said, the 1999 was the same model as 4001S renumbered by the UK importer, namely Rose Morris And yes, the other guys mentioned (Waters, Gibb, Quaife, Donovan) owned a 1999
