I'm not sure about recording, but I tend to like the live versions better anyway. Check out the live version of Kerosene, i like that worlds better than the album version! Man, you're right about the tone, but hey, it's punk rock, does it really have to sound nice? :D

what are the tell tale signs? if it helps anything, i have a yorkville XS400 hooked up to a PA speaker, and it just doesn't seem to be putting out the volume. this was rather sudden. i'm also running through a behringer hellbabe wah, a boss ODB-3, an MXR bass auto-q, a self made cut-off...

yeah, i realize that it might not sound all that great, but i'm really doing this for the pursuit of knowledge. is there anything that people would suggest to make this thing more suited to bass? thanks!

i'm not really sure yet, i'm looking for a sound suited to punk playing. i list matt freeman and paul simonon as influences. so probably something hot and aggressive.

so i have i p-style fraken-bass that i do everything to, and was thinking about putting a humbucker in the bridge position. is this a good idea? it has a 1/4 pounder right now.

i would recommend Terrapinisland.com. they have almost every pickguard known to man, and you can even send them a template for a custom pickguard, and they'll make it.

hi all, i own a Goldtone ABG-4 Acoustic Bass, and everytime i want to plug in, it's very hard to get a decent sound without awful feedback. i'm wondering if this has any thing to do with the pickups (condenser mic and piezo bridge pickup) or is it something else? thanks!
