    basscyclist thread picture thread

Y’know, I rode safely but aggressively in downtown Toronto traffic every day for 20 years and people thought I was nuts. I watch videos like the one above and it scares the begeezus out of me. Go figure…..

It’s always nice to see a LeMond considering how and who was responsible for Trek dropping the brand. America’s greatest cyclist.

Ashdown Studio 15 broken cord storage cylinder

The rear ports are commonly used by many manufacturers to stuff the IEC cable into from the factory.

Bucking the hum on an XT-2. Swap out the stock Steinberger (Epiphone) pickups?

Your first reply is the best reply. Solve the issue by finding the cause which likely means a checkup at a qualified tech. It will be cheaper than a set of pickups or a decent power bar especially when neither of those are likely to solve your problem. There aren’t a lot of bad pickups around...

TC Electronic Polytune Clip — is this counterfeit or not?

It’s real. Just a result of Music Tribe’s ever present aim at lowering production costs.

Someone else's gig: in re digi pedals and grace

I’m not sure I would have behaved any differently than he did. Being told by an audience member with a tall drink in his hand that digital pedals are unreliable is a great help when your digital pedal is fried mid set and considering that the vast majority of pedal based rigs used by the vast...

Best way to repair zipper on a leather Levy's bag

If you live in a settlement larger than a hamlet there will be somebody able to replace your zipper properly. Look first at dry cleaners but many people work from their homes as well.

Takamine B10, TB10, DB10 production numbers — does anyone know?

This is a question that even Takamine would have difficulty answering. Paper records will no longer exist and digital records can have little use when production materials, facilities and personnel change over the years.

GC and ex-Reverb…will this change anything?

And we wonder why the model broke.

Looking for an actual bass amp for doom and black metal (Just upgraded my bass and the amp is up next)

That Peavey above is exactly what you need but you can very close with their older TNT combos. Most came with a 15” speaker and are rated at around 150w. These will hang with most drummers and sell for, depending on condition, up to $300.00 or so.

Authenticity of an Arbiter 4001 Rick copy?

If your building fakes you probably already know that the market for lawsuit era guitars isn’t as strong as the market for American guitars and you wouldn’t go to the trouble of making a fake truss rod cover and stamp Made in Japan on the neck plate either. If you’re really unsure, look at the...

64 Epi Reissue Thunderbird neck problem

Their warranty applies only to the original owner with proof of purchase from an authorized seller. I would start with the nut and see where that gets you.

Big Time Mr. Fox - Tribute to Terry Fox

The term hero is bandied about a lot but this guy ran a 26 mile marathon every day for 143 days for a total of 3339 miles. On a prosthetic leg. There is nothing comparable and there never will be. Terry Fox will live forever due to his incredible athletic feat but really because of his...

Is this a Gene Simmons cabinet?

I’m not too familiar with Ampeg cabs but that serial number looks like it’s a sticker slapped over whatever was printed on the jack plate.

Hey UPS, 'dimensional weight' is not a thing.

Everything I ship is charged using dimensional weight. It’s not a scam. It’s about volume not weight as mentioned earlier. If we’re going to continue to shop from the comfort of our couches which we are at levels that increase every year we have to expect that costs of labour, trucks, planes...
