    New Gittler Basses!

@Red Planet Thanks for this post, I have many of the same opinions. I'm happy there are people out there trying to do new things with the instruments we've spent a good portion of our lives and passion (and cash) devoted to learning and expressing ourselves. As a guitarist, I see the writing...

    New Gittler Basses!

It's actually not bad at all, nor is it very different. Barre chords are no problem. At first it was awkward as I was focusing on my thumb position on my fretting hand (left). I started playing a few songs strumming chords, a few fills (about an hour), took a break, and played it again (3-4...

@Chef Solves the problem of using wood. ;) IMO :D Nothing like the sound and feel of titanium IMO/IME Similar to Steinberger composites, for solid body electric basses it makes me question "tone woods".

Some snarky retorts come to my mind :) :spit:

    New Gittler Basses!

Yes, clearly bass snarky is very different from guitar snarky. I'll need to work on my bass technique

    New Gittler Basses!

Really? See, and I thought I was having a good hair day when my avatar picture was done, my girlfriend at the time liked it...then again, she was in her early 20s, and I'm not. ;) I'm actually anime :)

    New Gittler Basses!

@Joe Nerve Yes, and I admitted I was being thin skinned in an earlier post, though being accused of "promoting" with its' possible connotations can tend to do that to some of us :) I'll add snarky too. Apologies. ...thanks for the additional info @Solarmist :)

yes, I'm not sure what's possible. Seems there are many possibilities with this material for instrument designs. I really like designs that push the definition of the instrument. Like the Stash bass, but I'd like a more minimal body design...like my Steinbergers...IMO the Gittler takes this...

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. ;) You could always get some Elmer's and glitter for your Gittler. Make it pretty :) (sarcasm) :woot:

    Mackie DLM12?

Anyone using a Mackie DLM12 with a bass digital modeler? I have a Zoom B1on, it seems the DLM12 would be a good small FRFR for bass? Who has one, tried one, etc...?

    New Gittler Basses!

Not sure about the originals, what they were made of. I do remember seeing pictures of them way back when, never dreamed about owning one...I think 60 originals were made, then another company made them but they were not true to the original design IIRC. I was very happy to see these are being...

    New Gittler Basses!

Maybe there's a future for a Glitter Gittler? ;) try saying that really fast several times o_O relic? titanium doesn't rust, but I think it gets a more matte finish over time...a little polish to bring back the shine maybe? edit: who's still playing mustang sally? :cautious:

The fretted version is similar to the guitar, it has the fret "ribs" on the neck "spine" for lack of better terms. I've not tried the bass, but it appears the fretless is a string over a neck tube. Hoping for more info (and pics, vids, demos, etc.) from NAMM
