New Gittler Basses!

wow this place is interesting, perhaps I've been away too long as I don't remember it being like this?

As far as "promoting" gear I dig, which is what I thought part of posting on gear forums is about, I posted a pic of an innovative new bass I dig, and link to make it easier for those interested to find without having to go search for it. No good deed goes unpunished.

Things are certainly "different" in bass land, and I thought guitarists had thin skin sheesh.

I own a Gittler guitar, so I'm speaking from experience, and I put my money where my mouth is by buying one. Hopefully a few here will find the Gittler basses interesting, maybe a few will buy one.

edit: Doesn't matter to me, it takes no food off my table what they sell or don't sell. I could care less what gear you own, use, want etc. but I always like to hear about new gear and discuss gear I own or interested in owning / considering purchasing. YMMV

The 4-string fretless is at the top of my gear list for next year. If I happen to get a Gittler bass, I'll be sure to post a NBD; maybe elsewhere though. :smug:

Well, he's wrong that he's not "promoting" it. But the implication when you say that is he's doing it for some alterior motive other than he's really excited and that's (probably) unfair.
I'm not sure where you are getting that I think there is an ulterior motive. I said I didn't think there is anything wrong with promoting something and that many of us do it. I've done it myself. The guy likes the bass and wants us all to see it; who would have a problem with that?

With the thin profit margins most of these people work on I NEVER assume someone is getting a kickback.

Makes me think of a more expensive Ikea towel rack. I'd love to hear it though.
Well, it should come with a heating option, just like the towel rack does, in case you left it out in the trunk on a snowy night, or are playing the Superbowl in an open roof stadium in the far North! :)

The look is not for everyone that's for sure. It's great to have choices though ;)

To me guitars/basses are a form of art and engineering, I dig it. It's one reason I played Steinbergers back in the day, and I still play them today though I only have an original L bass, my Steinberger guitars are all Synapse SS-2F models, not original composite.

I use digital and solid state gear for bass and guitar; I dig technology. Combining art and engineering combines two areas I dig. YMMV

I actually am more on your side - was just giving him his semantic due so he gets a "win".
I have no problem with "promoting" - in the sense that you are ding it - ie - "hey, look at this cool thing" I am sure guilty of it for my favoured brands. So please don't get me wrong in regards to this. If not for people like you, people like me would not know that Gittler was producing again (or still - whichever it is) nor, incidentally that I'll never get one due to price point :))) - just out of my range.
So I apologize to you as well if you felt I was suggesting you were doing anything wrong or dishonest - I was actually trying to tell the other guy to lay off of you, but my post most certainly could be read that way - my bad.

Second reply - please don't write us off, we're not all THAT bad - we just like to "debate".

Came here for Glitter Bass Guitar; left disappointed. :(

Until now!!
