I have a GK rb700 coming in, and I have a used Mesa Powerhouse 4x10 cab sitting there for me for 499$ Canadian. Is this a good setup, or is there a better deal to be had (without sacrificing tone)?

I have been working on a ton of melodic stuff that uses modal playing and arpeggios, but I want to get more practice with good ol' solid 8th notes. I need to work on my evenness and endurance. Can you guys recommend some songs that will help this? I don't care what kind of music, I just wanna jam.
