Just bought my first rig!

Well, technically it won't be mine for a little bit, but it is officially sitting in the back at work with my name on it.

I decided to go with a Mesa M9 Carbine and a Mesa Powerhouse 410 cab - both used at a good price.

I am very excited. Anything I need to know about this setup?

If I ever want to play a small gig and don't feel like lugging the 410 around, can I just plug into a 2x10?

Mesa has a reputation for being top grade stuff. A lot of us played a very long time on what some folks consider "lesser". Although, I still have a fondness for my first real rig, a Carvin model that blew the doors off my Fender Sidekick, which is still in my parents basement, still works, and undoubtedly still represents the highest money made playing vs. gear investment ratio of my entire life.:D

I know, I know, it is a spoiled first rig, but I have been a guitarist for almost 20 years, and I can't go back to the old days of playing third rate gear. I am sure I could have spent less and gotten something almost or just as good, but when I saw the head and cab come in used for half off I felt it was the Universe giving me a gift.

Anyway, thanks guys. And unfortunately I have no pics because I am one of 6 people in the western hemisphere who do not have a cell phone (or want one) and I don't carry around a digital camera. It is just sitting at work so I will try to take some pics of it this week.

All I can say is it sure as hell sounds a lot better than this little Fender Rumble practice amp I have been using.

Congrats and very good choices on the amp and cab. Mesa is top notch, I had their Powerhouse 6x10 cab, but sold it. Now I am looking for a new cab and want to go Mesa again. I am currently looking at one of their old Diesel model 2x15's.

That's only basses. Wait until you stumble into a B15, an SVT, an 800rb, EV's, JBL's, ...... oh, and we haven't started on old analog pedals yet, nor studio channel strips, tube preamps, DI's, tube compressors.....and the list goes on.......;)
